- 2 cups cooked pasta
- 1 pound ground beef
- 1 pound ground pork
- 1 small onion, diced
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
- 1 teaspoon dried oregano
- 1 teaspoon dried thyme
- 1/2 cup breadcrumbs
- 1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese
- 1 can (15 oz) marinara sauce
- 1 cup sour cream
- 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
- Cook the diced onion and minced garlic in a skillet over medium heat until softened.
- Combine the ground beef, ground pork, cooked onion, garlic, salt, pepper, oregano, thyme, breadcrumbs, and Parmesan cheese in a large bowl.
- Shape the mixture into small meatballs and cook them in a skillet until browned.
- Combine the cooked pasta, browned meatballs, marinara sauce, and sour cream in a large mixing bowl.
- Transfer the mixture to a baking dish and top with shredded mozzarella cheese.
- Bake in the preheated oven for 25-30 minutes or until the cheese is bubbly and golden.
- Serve warm and enjoy your hearty casserole.
Notes
For a lighter option, substitute ground turkey for the beef and pork, and swap sour cream for Greek yogurt. Consider adding Worcestershire sauce to the meatball mixture for depth or cream cheese for a creamier texture.
