Description
A tender beef dish slow-cooked in a rich, savory Korean sauce, perfect for busy weeknights.
Ingredients
Scale
- 2 lbs beef chuck roast
- 1 cup soy sauce
- 1/2 cup brown sugar
- 1/2 cup beef broth
- 1/4 cup rice vinegar
- 2 tablespoons sesame oil
- 4 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 tablespoon ginger, minced
- 1 tablespoon cornstarch (optional for thickening)
- Green onions for garnish
- Sesame seeds for garnish
Instructions
- Cut the beef into large chunks and place them in the slow cooker.
- In a bowl, mix together the soy sauce, brown sugar, beef broth, rice vinegar, sesame oil, garlic, and ginger. Pour this mixture over the beef.
- Cover and cook on low for 6-8 hours or on high for 4-5 hours until the beef is fork-tender.
- If you desire a thicker sauce, mix cornstarch with a little cold water, then stir it into the slow cooker during the last 30 minutes of cooking.
- Once finished, shred the beef with two forks and mix it back into the savory sauce.
- Serve over rice and garnish with green onions and sesame seeds for a beautiful presentation.
Notes
For added depth of flavor, consider marinating your beef in the sauce overnight before cooking. Serve over rice or noodles, and pair with a side salad or steamed vegetables.
