Ingredients

  • 1 1/2 cups cold water

Instructions

  1. Whisk together the flour, cornstarch, baking powder, salt, sugar, and paprika until well combined.
  2. Gradually add the cold water to the dry ingredients, whisking continuously until the batter is smooth and free of lumps.
  3. Heat oil in a deep fryer or large pot to 350°F (175°C).
  4. Dip your choice of fish, shrimp, or chicken into the batter, ensuring it is fully coated.
  5. Carefully lower the battered food into the hot oil and fry for 3-5 minutes or until golden brown and crispy.
  6. Remove from oil and drain on paper towels to remove excess grease.
