A delightful dish featuring tender pork chops infused with garlic and herbs, perfect for any occasion.


Ingredients

  • 4 pork chops (bone-in or boneless, about 1 inches thick)
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 3 tablespoons unsalted butter, melted
  • 1 large onion, thinly sliced
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 teaspoon paprika
  • 1 teaspoon dried thyme (or Italian seasoning)
  • ½ teaspoon black pepper
  • ½ teaspoon salt (adjust to taste)
  • ¼ cup chicken broth
  • 2 tablespoons grated Parmesan cheese
  • Fresh parsley or thyme, chopped (for garnish)

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 400°F (200°C) and lightly grease a baking dish.
  2. Pat the pork chops dry with a paper towel. Season both sides generously with salt, pepper, paprika, and thyme.
  3. Heat 2 tablespoons of olive oil in a skillet over medium-high heat. Sear the pork chops for 2–3 minutes per side until they are golden brown. Transfer the seared pork chops to the prepared baking dish.
  4. In the same skillet, add the sliced onions. Cook for 4–5 minutes until they soften, then stir in the minced garlic and cook for an additional 30 seconds.
  5. Spoon the onion-garlic mixture evenly over the pork chops. Pour the chicken broth into the dish and drizzle with the melted butter.
  6. Bake uncovered for 25–30 minutes or until the pork chops are tender and cooked through.
  7. During the last 5 minutes of baking, sprinkle the grated Parmesan cheese over the top of the chops and return to the oven.
  8. Once cooked, let the pork chops rest for 5 minutes before serving. Garnish with freshly chopped parsley or thyme.

Notes

For a lighter option, use olive oil spray. Store leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator for 3 to 4 days.
