A savory seafood pie featuring lump crab meat and a cheesy biscuit topping, perfect for weeknight dinners and festive gatherings.
Ingredients
Scale
- ½ lb lump crab meat
- ½ cup chopped celery
- ½ cup diced onion
- 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
- 1 cup biscuit mix
- 1 cup milk
- 1 teaspoon Old Bay seasoning
- Salt and pepper to taste
- 3 tablespoons melted butter
- Fresh parsley for garnish
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
- In a large mixing bowl, gently combine the lump crab meat, chopped celery, diced onion, Old Bay seasoning, salt, and pepper.
- In a separate bowl, mix together the biscuit mix, milk, and melted butter until it’s well combined.
- Grease a pie dish. Transfer the crab mixture into the dish and spread it evenly.
- Pour the biscuit mixture over the crab mixture, ensuring it’s evenly coated.
- Top it all off with the shredded cheddar cheese.
- Bake for 30-35 minutes or until the biscuit topping is golden brown and the pie is bubbling.
- Allow it to cool for a few minutes, then garnish with fresh parsley and serve.
Notes
Ensure the crab meat is well-drained to avoid a watery filling. For added flavor, sauté the onion and celery in butter before combining them with the crab.
