Description

A savory seafood pie featuring lump crab meat and a cheesy biscuit topping, perfect for weeknight dinners and festive gatherings.

Ingredients

Scale
  • ½ lb lump crab meat
  • ½ cup chopped celery
  • ½ cup diced onion
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
  • 1 cup biscuit mix
  • 1 cup milk
  • 1 teaspoon Old Bay seasoning
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 3 tablespoons melted butter
  • Fresh parsley for garnish

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a large mixing bowl, gently combine the lump crab meat, chopped celery, diced onion, Old Bay seasoning, salt, and pepper.
  3. In a separate bowl, mix together the biscuit mix, milk, and melted butter until it’s well combined.
  4. Grease a pie dish. Transfer the crab mixture into the dish and spread it evenly.
  5. Pour the biscuit mixture over the crab mixture, ensuring it’s evenly coated.
  6. Top it all off with the shredded cheddar cheese.
  7. Bake for 30-35 minutes or until the biscuit topping is golden brown and the pie is bubbling.
  8. Allow it to cool for a few minutes, then garnish with fresh parsley and serve.

Notes

Ensure the crab meat is well-drained to avoid a watery filling. For added flavor, sauté the onion and celery in butter before combining them with the crab.
