Description

A comforting and hearty lasagna featuring layers of meat, cheese, and marinara sauce, perfect for any occasion.


Ingredients

  • 12 lasagna noodles
  • 1 pound ground beef
  • 1 pound ground Italian sausage
  • 2 cups ricotta cheese
  • 1 egg
  • 3 cups mozzarella cheese, shredded
  • 2 cups marinara sauce
  • 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1 tablespoon Italian seasoning
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. Cook the lasagna noodles according to package instructions; drain and set aside.
  3. Brown the ground beef and Italian sausage in a skillet over medium heat until fully cooked, then drain excess fat.
  4. Combine ricotta cheese, egg, Italian seasoning, salt, and pepper in a mixing bowl; stir until evenly mixed.
  5. Spread a thin layer of marinara sauce at the bottom of a 9×13 inch baking dish.
  6. Layer 4 lasagna noodles over the sauce, then spread half of the ricotta mixture over the noodles. Add one-third of the mozzarella and one-third of the marinara.
  7. Repeat the layers until you’ve used all your ingredients, finishing with marinara topped with remaining mozzarella and Parmesan.
  8. Cover the dish with aluminum foil and bake for 25 minutes.
  9. Remove the foil and bake for an additional 25 minutes, until the cheese is bubbly and golden.
  10. Allow to cool for 15 minutes before slicing and serving warm.

Notes

This lasagna can be made ahead of time and stored in the refrigerator for 3-5 days or frozen for up to 3 months. Garnish with fresh basil or parsley for added flavor.
