- 12 lasagna noodles
- 1 pound ground beef
- 1 pound ground Italian sausage
- 2 cups ricotta cheese
- 1 egg
- 3 cups mozzarella cheese, shredded
- 2 cups marinara sauce
- 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
- 1 tablespoon Italian seasoning
- Salt and pepper to taste
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).
- Cook the lasagna noodles according to package instructions; drain and set aside.
- Brown the ground beef and Italian sausage in a skillet over medium heat until fully cooked, then drain excess fat.
- Combine ricotta cheese, egg, Italian seasoning, salt, and pepper in a mixing bowl; stir until evenly mixed.
- Spread a thin layer of marinara sauce at the bottom of a 9×13 inch baking dish.
- Layer 4 lasagna noodles over the sauce, then spread half of the ricotta mixture over the noodles. Add one-third of the mozzarella and one-third of the marinara.
- Repeat the layers until you’ve used all your ingredients, finishing with marinara topped with remaining mozzarella and Parmesan.
- Cover the dish with aluminum foil and bake for 25 minutes.
- Remove the foil and bake for an additional 25 minutes, until the cheese is bubbly and golden.
- Allow to cool for 15 minutes before slicing and serving warm.
Notes
This lasagna can be made ahead of time and stored in the refrigerator for 3-5 days or frozen for up to 3 months. Garnish with fresh basil or parsley for added flavor.
