Description
A delightful Asian-inspired dish featuring savory soy sauce and sweet brown sugar in a sticky glaze over tender chicken.
Ingredients
Scale
- 4 boneless, skinless chicken breasts
- 1/4 cup soy sauce
- 1/4 cup brown sugar
- 2 tablespoons rice vinegar
- 1 tablespoon sesame oil
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 teaspoon ginger, minced
- 1 tablespoon cornstarch
- 2 tablespoons water
- Cooked rice, for serving
- Stir-fried vegetables, for serving
Instructions
- In a bowl, whisk together soy sauce, brown sugar, rice vinegar, sesame oil, garlic, and ginger.
- Place the chicken in a resealable bag and pour the marinade over it. Seal the bag and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes, or overnight for maximum flavor.
- Preheat the grill or oven to 375°F (190°C).
- Remove the chicken from the marinade and discard the marinade. Grill the chicken for about 6-7 minutes on each side, or until cooked through, or bake for 25-30 minutes.
- In a small saucepan, combine cornstarch and water, then add the leftover marinade (if any) to thicken the sauce.
- Once the chicken is cooked, serve it over rice and with stir-fried vegetables. Drizzle the thickened sauce on top. Enjoy!
Notes
Marinate the chicken for longer when possible; overnight is best for maximum flavor. Always check doneness with a meat thermometer.
