Instructions

  1. In a saucepan, combine the orange juice, sugar, and water over medium heat. Stir gently until the sugar has dissolved completely.
  2. In a small bowl, mix the cornstarch with a little cold water to create a slurry.
  3. Once the orange juice mixture is warm, add the cornstarch slurry. Stir continuously to ensure it thickens evenly.
  4. Remove the saucepan from heat. Stir in the lemon juice and grated orange zest.
  5. Let the mixture cool, then pour it into serving dishes. Refrigerate until it’s fully set, about 2 hours.
  6. Serve chilled, topped with whipped cream if desired.

Notes

For best flavor, use fresh orange juice. You can substitute sugar with honey or a sugar substitute for a different sweetness.
