Description

A beloved dish featuring crispy chicken coated in a sweet and tangy orange sauce.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 lb chicken breast, cut into bite-sized pieces
  • 1/2 cup cornstarch
  • 2 tablespoons vegetable oil
  • 1/2 cup orange juice
  • 1/4 cup soy sauce
  • 1/4 cup sugar
  • 1 tablespoon rice vinegar
  • 1 tablespoon garlic, minced
  • 1 tablespoon ginger, minced
  • 1 green onion, chopped (for garnish)
  • Sesame seeds (for garnish)

Instructions

  1. Toss the chicken pieces in cornstarch until fully coated.
  2. Heat vegetable oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Add chicken and cook until golden brown and crispy, about 5 to 7 minutes. Remove and set aside.
  3. In the same skillet, combine orange juice, soy sauce, sugar, rice vinegar, garlic, and ginger. Bring to a simmer.
  4. Add the cooked chicken back to the skillet, toss with the sauce, and cook for an additional 2 to 3 minutes until heated through.
  5. Serve garnished with chopped green onions and sesame seeds.

Notes

For extra crunch, consider double frying the chicken or marinating it in soy sauce and ginger before coating it.
