Description
A one-pan dish that combines zesty Cajun spices with succulent shrimp and smoky sausage, perfect for low-carb diets.
Ingredients
Scale
- 1 lb shrimp, peeled and deveined
- 12 oz smoked sausage, sliced (andouille or kielbasa works well)
- 2 tbsp butter
- 3 garlic cloves, minced
- 1 red bell pepper, sliced
- 1 green bell pepper, sliced
- 1 tbsp Cajun seasoning
- Salt and pepper to taste
- Optional: splash of heavy cream, fresh parsley for garnish, cauliflower rice for serving
Instructions
- Heat a large skillet over medium-high heat. Add sausage slices and sear until browned, about 3–4 minutes. Remove from the skillet and set aside.
- In the same skillet, add butter. Once melted, sauté garlic and bell peppers until just tender, about 3–4 minutes.
- Toss in shrimp and Cajun seasoning. Cook until the shrimp are pink and cooked through, approximately 3 minutes.
- Return the browned sausage to the skillet and stir to combine.
- For a richer finish, consider adding a splash of cream. Stir well to incorporate.
- Serve hot as is or over cauliflower rice. Garnish with fresh parsley if desired.
Notes
To enhance flavor, marinate the shrimp in Cajun seasoning for 30 minutes before cooking. Feel free to mix in other vegetables for added texture.
