Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a medium bowl, whisk together the flour, ginger, cinnamon, cloves, baking soda, and salt.
  3. In a large bowl, cream together the softened butter and brown sugar until smooth and fluffy.
  4. Incorporate the molasses, egg, and vanilla, mixing well.
  5. Gradually stir in the flour mixture until a dough forms.
  6. Chill the dough in plastic wrap for at least 30 minutes.
  7. Roll the chilled dough into small balls and coat in powdered sugar.
  8. Arrange on lined baking sheets and bake for 10-12 minutes.
  9. Allow cooling on sheets for a few minutes before transferring to wire racks.

Notes
