Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 tablespoon sugar
  • 1/2 cup plain yogurt (or sour cream)
  • 1/4 cup warm water
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 23 cloves garlic, minced
  • Fresh cilantro for garnish (optional)

Instructions

  1. In a bowl, combine the flour, baking powder, salt, and sugar.
  2. Add the yogurt, warm water, and olive oil to the dry ingredients.
  3. Mix until a dough forms, then knead for about 5 minutes until smooth.
  4. Cover the dough with a damp cloth and let it rest for 30 minutes.
  5. Once rested, divide the dough into smaller balls.
  6. Roll each ball into a flat oval shape.
  7. Heat a skillet over medium-high heat.
  8. Cook each naan for 1-2 minutes on each side until golden and puffed.
  9. Brush with melted butter and sprinkle with minced garlic and cilantro if desired.
  10. Serve warm with your favorite curry or stew.

Notes

Ensure your skillet is properly preheated for best results. You can also infuse the oil with garlic for deeper flavor.
