Description
A rich and creamy cheese flan with a luscious caramel layer, perfect for any occasion.
Ingredients
Scale
- 1 can sweetened condensed milk
- 1 can evaporated milk
- 1 package cream cheese (8 oz)
- 4 large eggs
- 1 cup sugar (for caramel)
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
- In a saucepan over medium heat, melt the sugar until it transforms into a golden-brown caramel. Pour this caramel into a round baking dish, coating the bottom evenly.
- In a blender, combine the sweetened condensed milk, evaporated milk, cream cheese, eggs, and vanilla extract. Blend until smooth and creamy.
- Carefully pour the blended mixture over the caramel in the baking dish.
- Place the baking dish in a larger pan and fill it with hot water to create a water bath. Bake for 50-60 minutes or until the flan is set.
- Allow the flan to cool at room temperature before refrigerating for a few hours to enhance its flavor and texture.
Notes
For a lighter version, consider using low-fat cream cheese. Store in an airtight container for up to one week.
