- 12 oz rigatoni pasta
- 1 lb Italian sausage (mild or hot)
- 1 cup heavy cream
- 1/2 cup grated parmesan
- 3 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 onion, diced
- 2 tbsp olive oil
- 1/2 cup chicken broth or white wine
- Salt and pepper to taste
- Fresh basil or parsley for garnish
Instructions
- Cook pasta according to package directions until al dente.
- Heat olive oil in skillet, brown sausage, breaking into pieces.
- Add onion and garlic, cook until softened and fragrant.
- Deglaze with chicken broth or wine, scraping the pan.
- Pour in cream and simmer until thickened.
- Stir in parmesan until melted into sauce.
- Toss pasta in sauce until well coated.
- Garnish with basil or parsley, serve immediately.
Notes
- Store leftovers in airtight container for up to 3 days.
- To freeze, slightly undercook pasta, cool, and store up to 2 months.
- Reheat gently with added cream or milk to refresh sauce.
