Delicious cranberry bars topped with a creamy cream cheese frosting, perfect for any occasion.


Ingredients

  • 1 cup butter, softened
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup fresh or frozen cranberries, chopped
  • 1 package (8 oz) cream cheese, softened
  • 2 cups powdered sugar
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1 egg

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 9×13 inch baking dish.
  2. In a large bowl, cream together the butter and sugar until smooth. Beat in the egg until fully combined.
  3. Gradually blend in the flour, mixing until just combined. Gently fold in the chopped cranberries.
  4. Spread the mixture evenly in the prepared baking dish.
  5. Bake for 25-30 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
  6. In another bowl, beat together the cream cheese, powdered sugar, and vanilla extract until smooth and fluffy.
  7. Once the bars have cooled, spread the cream cheese mixture evenly over the top.
  8. Cut into bars and serve.

Notes

For a gluten-free option, use gluten-free all-purpose flour. Add orange zest for extra flavor.
