- 1 teaspoon Old Bay seasoning
- ¼ teaspoon garlic powder
- Dash of hot sauce (optional)
- ¼ cup unsalted butter, melted
- 1 tablespoon fresh lemon juice
- 1 clove garlic, minced
- 1 tablespoon fresh parsley, finely chopped
- ¼ teaspoon salt
Instructions
- Prepare the Crab Filling: In a medium bowl, combine the cream cheese and mayonnaise until smooth. Add green onions, lemon juice, Old Bay seasoning, garlic powder, and hot sauce if desired. Gently fold in the crabmeat, cover, and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes.
- Make the Biscuit Dough: Preheat oven to 425°F (220°C). In a large bowl, whisk together flour, baking powder, garlic powder, dried parsley, salt, and cayenne pepper. Incorporate the cold cubed butter until the mixture resembles coarse crumbs. Stir in cheddar cheese, form a well, and pour in buttermilk. Mix until it forms a shaggy dough.
- Form and Stuff the Biscuits: Turn the dough onto a floured surface, shape into a ½-inch thick rectangle, and fold it like a letter. Repeat once more. Divide the dough into 8 portions, flatten each, place crab filling in the center, and fold over to seal.
- Bake to Golden Perfection: Place biscuits on a lined baking sheet, leaving 2 inches apart. Bake for 14-16 minutes until golden brown. Prepare the lemon butter by mixing all ingredients in a small bowl.
- Finish with Lemon Butter: Brush the biscuits with lemon butter as soon as they come out of the oven, allowing them to cool for 5 minutes. Serve warm with any leftover lemon butter for dipping.
