  • 1/4 teaspoon salt

  • 1/4 cup cold butter, cubed
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
  • 3/4 cup milk
  • 1 cup lump crab meat
  • 2 tablespoons chopped fresh parsley
  • 1/4 teaspoon cayenne pepper
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted
  • 2 tablespoons lemon juice

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 450°F (230°C).
  2. In a large bowl, mix together the flour, baking powder, garlic powder, salt, and black pepper.
  3. Cut the cold, cubed butter into the flour mixture until it resembles coarse crumbs.
  4. Stir in the cheddar cheese and milk until just combined.
  5. In another bowl, gently combine the lump crab meat, chopped parsley, cayenne pepper, and a pinch of salt.
  6. Drop spoonfuls of the biscuit dough onto a baking sheet and create a small depression in each biscuit to fill with the crab mixture.
  7. Bake for 10-12 minutes or until golden brown.
  8. Combine melted butter and lemon juice in a small bowl and drizzle over the baked biscuits before serving.

Notes

For an even flakier texture, ensure that the butter is very cold before cutting it into the flour mixture.
