Description

A rich and creamy seafood bisque featuring succulent crab and shrimp, perfect for a cozy dinner or festive gatherings.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 lb shrimp, peeled and deveined
  • 1 lb crab meat
  • 1 onion, chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1/4 cup butter
  • 1/4 cup all-purpose flour
  • 4 cups seafood stock
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 1 tsp paprika
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Chopped parsley for garnish

Instructions

  1. In a large pot, melt the butter over medium heat. Add the chopped onion and minced garlic, sautéing until soft and fragrant.
  2. Stir in the all-purpose flour and cook for about 1 minute, allowing the mixture to thicken slightly.
  3. Gradually whisk in the seafood stock and bring to a gentle simmer, stirring occasionally.
  4. Add the shrimp to the pot and cook until they turn pink, about 2-3 minutes.
  5. Stir in the crab meat, heavy cream, paprika, salt, and pepper. Mix well to combine all the ingredients.
  6. Simmer for another 5 minutes, allowing the flavors to meld beautifully.
  7. Serve hot, garnished with freshly chopped parsley for a burst of color and additional flavor.

Notes

For added depth, try including a splash of sherry or white wine during the cooking process. Leftovers can be stored in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days.
