Description

A comforting chicken lasagna with layers of rich flavors, creamy cheeses, and savory chicken, ideal for family dinners and gatherings.


Ingredients

  • 9 lasagna noodles
  • 2 cups cooked chicken, shredded
  • 2 cups ricotta cheese
  • 2 cups mozzarella cheese, shredded
  • 1 cup Parmesan cheese, grated
  • 2 cups marinara sauce
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Fresh basil for garnish (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. Cook the lasagna noodles according to package instructions until al dente. Drain and set aside.
  3. In a bowl, combine the cooked chicken with the marinara sauce, Italian seasoning, salt, and pepper. Mix well.
  4. In another bowl, season the ricotta cheese with some salt and pepper.
  5. Spread a thin layer of marinara sauce at the bottom of a baking dish.
  6. Layer 3 lasagna noodles over the sauce. Top with half of the ricotta mixture, followed by a layer of the chicken mixture, and sprinkle with mozzarella cheese.
  7. Repeat the layers starting with the noodles, the remaining ricotta mixture, the rest of the chicken mixture, and finish with mozzarella and Parmesan cheese on top.
  8. Cover the dish with foil and bake for 25 minutes.
  9. Remove the foil and bake for an additional 15 minutes, until the cheese is bubbly and golden.
  10. Allow it to cool for a few minutes before garnishing with fresh basil and serving.

Notes

For added flavor, consider sautéing onions and garlic in olive oil before mixing with the marinara sauce. You can also explore variations by adding vegetables or using alternative cheeses.
