Description
A festive pull-apart bread shaped like a Christmas tree, filled with melty cheese and fresh herbs, perfect for holiday gatherings.
Ingredients
Scale
- 13 ounces canned refrigerator pizza dough
- Parchment paper (for lining baking sheet)
- 6–7 mozzarella cheese sticks
- 1 large egg (+ 1 tablespoon water for egg wash)
- 3 tablespoons butter (melted)
- ½ cup grated parmesan cheese (divided)
- 1 tablespoon fresh parsley (finely chopped)
- ½ tablespoon fresh rosemary (finely chopped)
- ½ tablespoon fresh basil (finely chopped)
- 1 clove garlic (grated)
- 1 jar marinara and/or pesto (for dipping)
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
- Roll the pizza dough into a large rectangle about 10×14 inches.
- Place mozzarella sticks along the center of the dough, sprinkle with parmesan, parsley, rosemary, basil, and garlic.
- Fold the dough over the cheese sticks, cut slits on the sides, and twist each strip to create ‘branches’. Shape into a triangular ‘tree’ on the parchment.
- Brush with egg wash and melted butter, then sprinkle remaining parmesan on top.
- Bake for 25–30 minutes until golden-brown and cheese is melted.
- Let cool for 10 minutes, then serve warm with marinara or pesto.
Notes
Dough can be made ahead; refrigerate for up to 24 hours before baking. Pairs well with a salad or tomato soup.
