Description

A festive pull-apart bread shaped like a Christmas tree, filled with melty cheese and fresh herbs, perfect for holiday gatherings.


Ingredients

  • 13 ounces canned refrigerator pizza dough
  • Parchment paper (for lining baking sheet)
  • 6–7 mozzarella cheese sticks
  • 1 large egg (+ 1 tablespoon water for egg wash)
  • 3 tablespoons butter (melted)
  • ½ cup grated parmesan cheese (divided)
  • 1 tablespoon fresh parsley (finely chopped)
  • ½ tablespoon fresh rosemary (finely chopped)
  • ½ tablespoon fresh basil (finely chopped)
  • 1 clove garlic (grated)
  • 1 jar marinara and/or pesto (for dipping)

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. Roll the pizza dough into a large rectangle about 10×14 inches.
  3. Place mozzarella sticks along the center of the dough, sprinkle with parmesan, parsley, rosemary, basil, and garlic.
  4. Fold the dough over the cheese sticks, cut slits on the sides, and twist each strip to create ‘branches’. Shape into a triangular ‘tree’ on the parchment.
  5. Brush with egg wash and melted butter, then sprinkle remaining parmesan on top.
  6. Bake for 25–30 minutes until golden-brown and cheese is melted.
  7. Let cool for 10 minutes, then serve warm with marinara or pesto.

Notes

Dough can be made ahead; refrigerate for up to 24 hours before baking. Pairs well with a salad or tomato soup.
