A delightful dish combining sweet Vidalia onions with rich cheddar cheese, encased in a flaky pie crust. Perfect for brunch, lunch, or a light dinner.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 cups thinly sliced Vidalia onions
  • 1 1/2 cups sharp cheddar cheese, grated
  • 3 large eggs
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 unbaked pie crust

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. In a large bowl, whisk together the eggs, heavy cream, milk, salt, and pepper until well combined.
  3. Stir in the thinly sliced Vidalia onions and grated cheddar cheese, mixing gently.
  4. Pour the mixture into the unbaked pie crust evenly.
  5. Bake the pie for 35-40 minutes or until set and golden brown on top.
  6. Allow the pie to cool slightly before slicing and serving.

Notes

Sauté onions for richer flavor; experiment with cheese blends. For gluten-free, use a gluten-free pie crust.
