- 1 tablespoon baking powder

- ½ teaspoon garlic powder (optional)
- 1½ cups shredded cheddar cheese
- 1 cup milk (whole or 2%)
- 1 large egg, beaten
- ¼ cup unsalted butter, melted
- 2 tablespoons honey (optional)
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 9×5-inch loaf pan.
- Whisk together the flour, baking powder, salt, and optional garlic powder in a large bowl.
- Stir in the shredded cheddar cheese until well coated in the flour mixture.
- Whisk together the milk, beaten egg, and melted butter in a separate bowl. Add honey if using.
- Pour the wet ingredients into the dry mixture. Fold gently until just combined.
- Transfer the batter to the prepared loaf pan. Sprinkle reserved cheese on top if desired.
- Bake for 45-50 minutes, or until golden brown and a toothpick comes out clean.
- Allow to cool in the pan for 10 minutes, then transfer to a wire rack.
