Ingredients
- Slices of bread
- Mozzarella cheese (or provolone)
- Juicy tomatoes
- Garlic
- Fresh basil
- Balsamic vinegar
- Butter
- Salt
- Pepper
Instructions
- Spread butter on one side of each slice of bread.
- Heat a skillet over medium heat.
- Place one slice of bread, butter-side down, in the skillet.
- Layer mozzarella cheese, sliced tomatoes, minced garlic, and fresh basil on top.
- Drizzle with balsamic vinegar and season with salt and pepper.
- Top with another slice of bread, butter-side up.
- Cook for 3-4 minutes until golden brown, then flip and cook for another 3-4 minutes.
- Remove from skillet, slice, and serve warm.
Notes
For a twist, try different cheeses or add herbs. Use day-old bread for better texture.
